After examining the part the Holy Spirit plays in the Christian and the world in “After the Rapture, Part 1” posted on 6-13-20. Let us now consider briefly the consequences of a flesh that is not held in check by the Holy Spirit, and running riot.
“Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” Galatians 5:19-21.
Adultery is the first mentioned in Galatians 5:19-21, since the meaning of this word is self-evident, sex between married persons who are not married to each other. Or a single person having relations with a married person there is little need to explain it.
However, it is already an epidemic, with the devaluing of the marriage vows or any vows for that matter. After the rapture when the Holy Spirit allows men free rein it will become pandemic.
In fact with the nearly universal acceptance of homosexual marriage, marriage itself will become a joke for late night comedians whose humor is already unfunny and tasteless.
Fornication, according to the lexicon, means: illicit sexual intercourse between homosexuals, lesbians, pedophilia (child rape), incest, bestiality, and unmarried couples.
Uncleanness is in the moral sense, impurity of lustful, luxurious, profligate living.
Licentiousness is unbridled lust, excess, lasciviousness, wantonness, outrageousness, shamelessness, insolence.
Licentiousness is defined by the dictionary as: sexually unrestrained; lewd; unrestrained by law or morality; lawless; immoral.
Idolatry is the worship of false gods.
Sorcery, also called witchcraft in the King James Version, is the use of, or the administering of drugs, poisoning, sorcery, or magical arts.
Hatred is enmity.
Contentions are strife, wrangling.
Jealousies are an envious and contentious rivalry.
Outbursts of wrath are the outworks of, passion, angry heat, and anger boiling up then subsiding.
Selfish ambitions come from a partisan and fractious spirit, who does not disdain the low arts (deception, false accusations, character assassination, muck raking).
Dissensions are divisions.
Heresies are dissensions arising from diversity of opinion and aims.
Envy, according to the dictionary is; a sense of discontent or jealousy with regard to another’s advantages, success, or possessions.
Murders are murders or slaughter.
Drunkenness is defined as intoxication.
Revelries is carousal; nocturnal and riotous processions of drunken people parading through the streets with torches and music in honor of Bacchus or some deity. Best definition for today is feasts and drinking parties.
Adultery and fornication are daily occurrences, so we do not notice them as much, but incest and pedophilia are things that are being pushed to be legalized.
Soon enough these things along with bestiality, sex with animals, necrophilia sex with the dead and other things like this which cannot by any stretch of the imagination be considered normal will become legal and commonplace; especially after the removal of the restraint of the Holy Spirit.
Let us not forget rape and forced sodomy; there have been so many rapes in India that it is affecting the tourist trade, as it should. But many of these rapes are so blatantly demonically driven that it is horrifying.
One appalling story was of a woman who was raped repeatedly on a bus, and unspeakably mutilated by several men, and then she was thrown, like so much garbage from the bus.
These men were executed a while back, eight years after their murderous attack on this innocent woman.
What happens when the demons of rape take over a world without anyone who cares about the helpless?
Think about it, even now there are those who want to do away with the police. Many liberal politicians are also embracing this lunacy.
Uncleanness, something that most people crave will become commonplace after the rapture, and they will be at the expense of the poor, desperate, or helpless who will be sold into slavery or bondage to become victims of the licentious.
With the church gone and all teaching of the one true God suppressed the idolatrous super church will begin to form with its inclusion of all religions, including an apostate version of Christianity (liberal churches) which embraces all religions as being a way to god.
When this church gains enough power, true Christians will be martyred in the cruelest ways imaginable for a demonized world.
Sorcery or witchcraft is prevalent today; they have even shown themselves during pro-abortion rallies. They will become even more powerful and vociferous after the Holy Spirit is gone, becoming a part of the world church.
Hatred, contentions, jealousy, outbursts of wrath, dissensions, and heresies, will become a part of every person’s angry hateful heart when the world spins out of control.
Even most of us today are at our wits end as we look at the uncertainty of governments, and the astounding stupidity of those in charge of government. What will it be like after the rapture when everything ceases to make any sense?
Selfish ambitions seem as though they are required in government. Everyone is fractious, partisan and not above muck raking or any other lowdown dirty trick to advance their own agenda.
Murders are pandemic in the Middle East even now, and folks kill each other in this country with no reason. At times they are just thrill killings, or because someone did not respect the murderer, or had the misfortune to be victim of a robbery or rape.
Drunkenness, revelries, how many are, even now, being kept awake by lawless inconsiderate thugs who carouse and play loud music late into the night.
How many are abused by a drunken husband or father who comes home to take out his anger on his family. Multiply this many times when lawlessness becomes the norm.
Will it stop there?
“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 2 Timothy 3:1-7.
It is in the last days that perilous times will come; we are in the last days. But notice this; the perilous times will come because of what men are, not for some other unnamed reason.
Mankind has always displayed the above traits, but not all of them at once; every society has had some redeeming trait like love or reverence for parents as the Oriental culture does.
Not without self-control, think of the discipline of the Greek Athenians, or the Spartans. How many traitors do you hear of in Japanese society?
Think of the lack of brutality by the American soldiers during World War II, and the compassion shown by many after the war.
The world is flying toward chaos, not because of global warming, pollution, famine, or poverty.
The times have become perilous because men have become selfish, greedy, and interested only in self-gratification; no matter who will be harmed or what the consequences are to the society they live in.
What will you do when planes by the dozens fall from the skies, trains wreck, traffic pileups number in the tens of thousands, and hundreds of thousands of police, emergency personnel, and doctors disappear?
What will you do when governments tell everyone to stay in their homes until they correct the problems? Meanwhile at the same time they are secretly becoming an oppressive one world government?
What will you do when all the children disappear?
What will you do when within hours or days after the rapture people realize that the police are overwhelmed and cannot respond to a 911 call as it is even now?
What will you do when criminals start ransacking houses, beginning with the helpless, aged, and infirm; robbing them, raping and killing many of them?
What will you do when rape, sadism, sodomy, and sex trafficking of both adults and young people become rampant? And by the way, there is too much of this going in this country and throughout the world right now.
What will you do when you call your congressman to complain, and he laughs and hangs up because he is getting a kickback from the gangsters who run the sex trade?
Even the common, normal, law abiding citizen will run stop signs and red lights, not report accidents, shop lift, and take money or goods left out in the open.
What will you do when government declares martial law, suspends the Constitution, and the president or a senator is authorized to remain in office until the crisis which is permanent is over?
What will you do when they prosecute you for sedition because you criticized them over the phone or on the internet (remember the NSA), or were found with a firearm, all of which are illegal by that time?
What will you do when the borders of this country are opened and thousands of illegal aliens flood in, and taxes are raised to feed and house the influx?
What will you do when taxes are raised to fund every crack brained plan some politician thinks of to benefit himself?
What will you do when the Feds or the banks decide to take forty per cent of your savings to make up for shortfalls like they did in Cyprus a few years ago?
What will you do when credit card rates and fees are summarily raised to a point where you cannot ever pay them off?
What will you do when retailers and manufacturers begin price gouging, shorting quantities and lowering quality?
They already do this, one brand of coffee came out with a new cube shaped plastic container which held 30 ounces of coffee, while the old cylinder shaped can held 32 ounces.
The price remained the same, there was no notice given to the customer except the weight shown on the container; legal, sleazy and underhanded.
A popular brand of bar soap used to weigh 4.25 ounces, until, without any announcement and nothing to show the consumer the difference, the weight of the bar was changed to 4.00 ounces, with no price change at all, again, legal, sleazy and underhanded.
If legitimate businesses can do this now, what will happen when a time of lawlessness comes in?
What will you do when God gives them all over to a debased mind, a mind that does not work?
“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.” Romans 1:28-32.
Will you be there? There are many good folk who have not accepted Christ as their savior who will find themselves in these horrific circumstances.
How can I call these people good?
“Truly, this only I have found: That God made man upright, but they have sought out many schemes.” Ecclesiastes 7:29.
Nice folks who have lived a good life, a moral life, but they were fixated on some hobby or concerned with becoming rich.
Many women concentrate on raising children who are good citizens, and rightfully so, but they neglect their souls; as a result, they and their older children will enter the age of darkness.
Good people, good citizens who believe in God, love the flag, and embrace the Constitution, but have concentrated on the world’s baubles and shiny things while ignoring their eternal destination.
“You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe – and tremble!” James 2:19.
It is good that folks believe in God, but they must put their trust in His provision for our salvation.
That is in trusting that Jesus Christ died for your sins. Embrace this knowing that it is Jesus who will call His own to Him on the day of the rapture.
“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved [the name of Jesus Christ].” Acts 4:12.
The minds of people who love and desire order will be ripped apart when the door is shut and the world embraces evil.
I know this because many of us are distraught over the current condition of this country with the rioting and anarchy. While so many more in the rest of the world must feel the same way. And it has just begun to shake.
What will you do? I plead with you, accept Christ while you still can. No matter who you are, what you have done, or how unworthy you feel; the blood of Christ was shed for you.
“For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17.
“…Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:31.
“This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.” 1 Timothy 1:15.
To all who have accepted Christ as their Savior, the answer to the question, “What will you do after the rapture?” is nothing; you will be in heaven. Would that all who read this would embrace that knowledge.
