“And I will come near you for judgment; I will be a swift witness against sorcerers, against adulterers, against perjurers, against those who exploit wage earners and widows and the fatherless, and against those who turn away an alien – because they do not fear Me,” says the Lord of hosts. “For I am the Lord, I do not change; therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.” Malachi 3:5-6.
God is against those who exploit widows and the fatherless. You do not hear much about this segment of the population, but widows are put on the endless merry-go-round of welfare with little hope of getting off and on to their own two feet, often raising their children on welfare too.
This results in fatherless children who do not know how to work or even look for work, so they just sink into the miasma of drugs and gangs.
Yet, with about one third of the population, widows, unwed mothers, and others being on welfare assistance a godless government has a guaranteed voting bloc who will not bite the hand that feeds them. This is called exploitation.
The orphans who may be lucky enough to have close relatives are most likely to do well, but the ones who are alone go into both religious and non-religious orphanages where there is more cold needless discipline than there is in teaching of the love of Christ.
Or they may be passed from foster home to foster home which may or may not have been vetted to see what sort of person runs it. Children are molested in many of these places. And often the molested children are ignored by government lackeys who only wish to meet their quota.
God is against, “…those who turn away an alien – because they do not fear Me.” This is in no way connected to the flood of aliens who are coming across our borders daily on the south. A nation has the right to protect itself from invasion, which is exactly what this is.
There are millions of folks who have gone past the Statue of Liberty and blessed the ground they stood on; but they did it legally and are welcome.
But these invaders are not here to make a great country greater, nor are they intent on adopting our Constitution, only in getting away from where they were, or worse yet they are terrorists intent on destroying innocent lives.
Those who turn away an alien are those who mistreat strangers in the land, in this case Israel of old, in our case the entire world.
“You shall not pervert justice due the stranger [alien] or the fatherless, nor take a widow’s garment as a pledge.” Deuteronomy 24:17.
The American government could not be accused of this because they take taxpayer’s money to send illegal aliens to college, give them free medicine, housing and welfare. In fact one illegal alien who was saved from drowning is suing the first responders who helped save him.
So, no, we are not mistreating the illegal aliens in this country, but the Poles, the Irish, Italians, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, who struggled to get to this country, struggled to learn English, struggled to get work, struggled to pass their citizenship exams, struggled against prejudice, and now are struggling to pay taxes to feed and clothe people who just walk across our border, may find fault.
Israel was established by God, America was established by godly men who saw this country as a beacon for Christ, a city set on a hill, a new Jerusalem, and God honored that with blessing after blessing upon this country. What has happened?
“Now let me sing to my Well-beloved a song of my Beloved regarding His vineyard: My Well-beloved has a vineyard on a very fruitful hill. He dug it up and cleared out its stones, and planted it with the choicest vine. He built a tower in its midst, and also made a winepress in it; so He expected it to bring forth good grapes, but it brought forth wild grapes. And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge, please, between Me and My vineyard. What more could have been done to My vineyard that I have not done in it? Why then, when I expected it to bring forth good grapes, did it bring forth wild grapes? And now, please let Me tell you what I will do to My vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it shall be burned; and break down its wall, and it shall be trampled down. I will lay it waste; it shall not be pruned or dug, but there shall come up briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain on it. For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah are His pleasant plant. He looked for justice, but behold, oppression; for righteousness, but behold, weeping. Woe to those who join house to house, who add field to field, till there is no place where they may dwell alone in the midst of the land! In my hearing the Lord of hosts said, ‘Truly, many houses shall be desolate, great and beautiful ones, without inhabitant. For ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath [about 8 gallons], and a homer [6.25 bushels or 58 gal. or 10 ephahs] of seed shall yield one ephah.’ Woe to those who rise early in the morning, that they may follow intoxicating drink; who continue until night, till wine inflames them! The harp and the strings, the tambourine and flute, and wine are in their feasts; but they do not regard the work of the Lord, nor consider the operation of His hands.” Isaiah 5:1-12.
“I will take away its hedge, and it shall be burned…” the hedge of this self-centered nation that has forgotten God came down on 911 when 3,000 people were murdered.
“And break down its wall, and it shall be trampled down.” our southern border has been broken down and an invading force is trampling our nation down.
“I will lay it waste; it shall not be pruned or dug, but there shall come up briers and thorns.” this nation’s infrastructure is broken, roads are in disrepair, whole cities like Detroit are falling apart and bankrupt.
Homeless folks who cannot find jobs live in cars, trailers, or tent cities, while repossessed homes lie vacant and crumbling; “Truly, many houses shall be desolate, great and beautiful ones, without inhabitant.”
“I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain on it.” terrible weather bringing death and destruction has become a normal thing; yet the drought is coming.
The worse drought is the lack of a Spiritual rain from God to water the soul. Men do not want God in their lives, soon He will say the same thing He said in Genesis 6:3 before the flood destroyed them all; “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be…” how long?
This segment in Isaiah 5 ends with these words:
“Woe to those who rise early in the morning, that they may follow intoxicating drink; who continue until night, till wine inflames them! The harp and the strings, the tambourine and flute, and wine are in their feasts; but they do not regard the work of the Lord, nor consider the operation of His hands.” Isaiah 5:11-12.
This is a good description of the party spirit that has enveloped this country today. The youth in particular seem to think that partying and getting wasted is the meaning of life.
And no wonder, having been indoctrinated with the myth of evolution they consider themselves no more than a higher animal and do not seek after God, and perhaps they would not, even without the crutch of evolutionary philosophy.
“We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.” 1 John 5:19.
“But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.” 2 Corinthians 4:3-4.
“But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.” 1 John 2:11.
Concerning this last verse; “he who hates his brother is in darkness”; politically correct is a language and moral system that is a system of hate, which not only separates us from one another but it encourages hatred of the things it does not approve of. And it does not approve of the Creator God, Jesus Christ, or the moral system taught in Scripture.
People who adhere to this system hate Christianity because it teaches a different moral system which contradicts politically correct and the critical race theory now being taught in schools.
Those who believe in these made up systems are in darkness because they will not even consider anything which goes against them, nor will they even bother to investigate the Scriptures.
The men in ivory towers who cobbled the politically correct system and CRT together may or may not have been well meaning in their work, but the script is demonic and straight out of the pit of hell.
“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!” Isaiah 5:20-21.
The prophet Hosea prophesied to the Northern Kingdom of Israel. He began his ministry during the reign of Jeroboam II (782-753 B.C.), during this time Israel was prosperous and ungodly, so judgment from God seemed a distant thing, if at all. The rude awakening came in 722 B.C. when the capital, Samaria fell to the unbelievably cruel Assyrians (compare to ISIS) and the people were deported. The things Hosea told the people they would be judged for should sound familiar.
“Hear the word of the Lord, you children of Israel, for the Lord brings a charge against the inhabitants of the land: ‘There is no truth or mercy or knowledge of God in the land. By swearing and lying, killing and stealing and committing adultery, they break all restraint, with bloodshed after bloodshed.’” Hosea 4:1-2.
Relativism or truth; relativism has the thought that there are no absolute truths, truth is shaped by a person’s viewpoint or culture, and as a result absolute truth cannot be agreed upon. When people hold this view, which is how the shepherds of higher learning teach it, truth ceases to exist.
The results is a nation of liars, what is truth, “what difference does it make that was a long time ago?”
I will tell you what is convenient for me, I will tell you what you need to know to buy my wares, vote for me, or I will lie to give you the impression that I know what I am doing.
In fact I will lie to myself, it is not my fault that everything I inherited has gone completely awry; it was my lawyers fault, my counselors fault, I inherited something that was already a complete mess, in fact I improved it before it self-destructed.
I believe in evolution, I believe in UFOs, I believe that the government is capable of caring for me and my family from cradle to grave. I believe that a good God would not judge this Christian nation.
I believe that it is alright for a man or woman to commit adultery if they are truly unhappy with their spouse. I believe that it is alright to buy something that may have been stolen because if the real owner had cared about it they would have done more to keep it safe from theft.
I believe that God is just a myth made up to keep people in line; I believe that there is no way of knowing there is a God; I believe that if God wanted me to believe in Him He would show Himself.
I believe a lie because I no longer know what truth is.
“…killing and stealing and committing adultery, they break all restraint, with bloodshed after bloodshed.” Murders, burglaries and thefts exploded in the late sixties and stayed high through the nineties and then began to abate for a while, until in this current lawless period they are rising again at a frightening rate.
The influx of illegal aliens in this country is responsible for a great number of these crimes because so many criminals are coming in with them.
It should not be forgotten either that abortion is murder, no matter what anybody’s truth is, and should be considered bloodshed that is not shown in the murder statistics, about fifty million babies.
In fact the last words of verse 2 are, “…they break all restraint, with bloodshed after bloodshed.” The marginal word shown for “after” is “touching”, in other words this verse could also be rendered “bloodshed touching bloodshed”, without stopping blood is shed, that is abortion in this country, is non-stop the blood of babies is shed. The numbers become staggering when you consider this is going on continually throughout the world.
I do not believe that the young girls who are duped into giving up their child to abortion are guilty of sin as much as those who force them into it, lie about the consequences, or do the killing.
All need to turn to Christ to have their guilt washed away by His blood shed for their sins. But if God has reason to destroy any nation it is for the mistreatment of innocent children.
“But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!” Matthew 18:6-7.
