Jesus Christ is called in the Scriptures, “the Word”, (the Logos, “the express image of His [God’s] person”, Hebrews 1:3), John 1:1; “Rock”, 1 Corinthians 10:4; “Teacher”, Matthew 8:19; “Mediator”, 1 Timothy 2:5; “Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords”, 1 Timothy 6:15; “Shepherd and Overseer of your souls”, 1 Peter 2:25; “the light of the world”, John 8:12; “the resurrection and the life”, John 11:25; “I AM”, (same as YAHWEH, Exodus 3:14), John 8:58; to name a few.
“After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea, and there He remained with them and baptized. Now John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there. And they came and were baptized. For John had not yet been thrown into prison.” John 3:22-24.
“Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.” Jonah 3:10.
“Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the fish’s belly. And he said: ‘I cried out to the Lord because of my affliction, and He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and You heard my voice.’” Jonah 2:1-2.
“Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, ‘Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.’ But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.” Jonah 1:1-3.
