“O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongs – O God, to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth! Rise up, O Judge of the earth; render punishment to the proud. Lord, how long will the wicked, how long will the wicked triumph? They utter speech, and speak insolent things; all the workers of iniquity boast in themselves. They break in pieces Your people, O Lord, and afflict Your heritage.” Psalm 94:1-5.
The above has been retained for context. We will now take a look at Psalm 94:6-7.
“They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.” Psalm 94:6.
The widow is a widowed helpless person in a desolate place, or a desolate house.
While the word slay above could be called murder depending on context, you will notice that it is used instead of the word murder which is used in the next phrase.
In all likelihood the idea is one of slaughter, as in, they slaughter the widow and the stranger. Slay would indicate the possibility that they are killed by striking or beating them.
The next phrase, “…and murder the fatherless” is intentionally different. The Hebrew word for murder (transliterated ratsach) is not the same as the one for slay (harag).
Murder has been defined by the dictionary as unlawfully killing a human being with premeditated malice by a person of sound mind.
While the word murder can be interpreted as slay, kill, or murder; it can also be translated “dash in pieces” which has a connotation of real cruelty. If this is the case, “…and murder the fatherless” could be rendered, dash the fatherless in pieces.
The reference to the fatherless means an orphan who is bereaved of their father, a helpless person.
Again, this is a tribulation holocaust which will be worldwide. Worldwide includes, America, Canada, and South and Central America, in case anyone feels that worldwide means everywhere but America.
By the time of the tribulation the United States of America will no longer exist, nor will its citizens be protected by our Constitution, it will be part of the one world government that most of our liberal politicians are pushing for, even today.
For those of you who notice, the word tribulation keeps cropping up, but do not understand its significance, a brief explanation is in order if you will permit me.
The tribulation, or tribulation period, are a reference to the last period in man’s governance of the earth in rebellion against God.
The tribulation will not happen until all of the Christians are removed from the earth in what is referred to as the rapture. When that happens God will take His hand away, allowing mankind to do what he has always wanted to do, run things without, and in defiance of, the Creator God.
It is a period which lasts for seven years, with the possibility of several years elapsing after the removal of Christians in the rapture and before the actual seven year period which begins with a signing of a treaty with the nation of Israel.
But chaos, murders, crime, sexually perverse crimes, and general lawlessness, in government, business, and religion will start immediately after the rapture, and explode exponentially after the tribulation starts.
Many of you may have noticed that these things are already happening at an alarming rate. God is giving us a taste of where we will not want to be.
This psalm is about the things which will occur during the tribulation and my constant references to ISIS and the other jihadist armies in the Middle East are to give anyone who reads this a small idea of the horror which will soon be released upon the entire earth.
“They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.” Psalm 94:6.
ISIS and Boko Haram are slaughtering Shiite Muslims, Christians, strangers, and husbands before abusing and murdering their wives, saving the worst cruelties for their orphaned children.
These are some of the vilest, but not new things for Islam; this has been going on quietly to some degree or another for centuries.
These are just examples of the depth of cruelty that all men are capable of, and will sink to. The rapture has not occurred yet (as of 2-25-23) and the tribulation has not begun yet!
“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who heeds counsel is wise.” Proverbs 12:15.
“We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For He says: ‘In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you.’ Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Corinthians 6:1-2.
Please do not put off accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior, time is short!
With the beginning of the tribulation a highly intelligent smooth talking charismatic liar will begin to take over everything. Everyone will love him, but he will be the personification of evil so he is aptly called the beast, or Antichrist.
At the same time peace will be taken from the earth (if you can imagine things getting worse than today). Murder and warfare will become pandemic.
This will quickly be followed by unbelievable inflation in which a loaf of bread will cost a day’s wages, and famines, which are caused by war and ecological disasters.
However, the ultra-rich will not suffer because they will just get richer through political and business intrigue.
A fourth of the earth will die from wars, murder, hunger, and wild animals.
There are many pets throughout the world that will begin to run wild and become a menace when they are separated from their owners and starving. See the four horsemen in Revelation chapter six.
“Yet they say, ‘The Lord does not see, nor does the God of Jacob understand [marginal note, does not pay attention].’” Psalm 94:7.
There is a lot of this going around, evil men, and sometimes folks in general seem to think that God does not see.
But He does you know, even Islamic jihadists crucify Christians as an insult to “the Nazarene”, but it matters to Him, and He will not forget.
“For the wicked boasts of his heart’s desire; he blesses the greedy and renounces the Lord. The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God; God is in none of his thoughts. His ways are always prospering; Your judgments are far above, out of his sight; as for all his enemies, he sneers at them. He has said in his heart, ‘I shall not be moved; I shall never be in adversity.’ His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression; under his tongue is trouble and iniquity. He sits in the lurking places of the villages; in the secret places he murders the innocent; his eyes are secretly fixed on the helpless. He lies in wait secretly, as a lion in his den; he lies in wait to catch the poor; he catches the poor when he draws him into his net. So he crouches, he lies low, that the helpless may fall by his strength. He has said in his heart, ‘God has forgotten; He hides His face; He will never see.’ Arise, O Lord! O God, lift up Your hand! Do not forget the humble. Why do the wicked renounce God? He has said in his heart, ‘You will not require an account.’” Psalm 10:3-13.
“Then He [the Lord God] said to me, ‘The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great, and the land is full of bloodshed, and the city full of perversity; for they say, “The Lord has forsaken the land, and the Lord does not see!” And as for Me also, My eye will neither spare, nor will I have pity, but I will recompense their deeds on their own head.’” Ezekiel 9:9-10.
While we look on in horror at these things, it should not be forgotten that 3,400 years ago God promised to bring everything into alignment with His will and avenge those who hope in Him. It is a time that draws nearer every day.
“Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people [Israel]; for He will avenge the blood of His servants, and render vengeance to His adversaries; He will provide atonement for His land and His people.” Deuteronomy 32:43.
Until then always remember, for those who are His, it is all about Jesus:
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me [Jesus Christ], because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the Poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God…” Isaiah 61:1-2a.
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: ‘For Your sake we are killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.’ Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:35-39.
