“The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity; there is none who does good. God looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God. Every one of them has turned aside; they have together become corrupt; there is none who does good, no, not one.” Psalm 53:1-3.
“Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, and I will declare Your greatness. They shall utter [marginal, eagerly utter] the memory of Your great goodness, and shall sing of Your righteousness. The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy. The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.” Psalm 145:6-9.
During a recent conversation, a man I know stated that, “God was disappointed with Adam and Eve in the garden.” That is to say that God was disappointed that they ate of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
“So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.” Genesis 3:6.
“Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery [hidden truth] of Christ, for which I am also in chains, that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.” Colossians 4:2-4.
“Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.” Colossians 4:5-6.
