The account of the Gadarene demoniac is a gripping show of the power of Christ over Satan’s demons, it is found in only three of the four Gospels, Matthew chapter 8, Mark chapter 5, and Luke 8. While Matthew indicates that there were two men, all of the accounts for some reason concern themselves with only one of them.
“Hear the word of the Lord, you children of Israel, for the Lord brings a charge against the inhabitants of the land: ‘There is no truth or mercy or knowledge of God in the land. By swearing and lying, killing and stealing and committing adultery, they break all restraint, with bloodshed after bloodshed.’” Hosea 4:1-2.
“…endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling;” Ephesians 4:3-4.
“…one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” Ephesians 4:5-6.
“…He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.” 2 Thessalonians 2:7b-8.
“The coming of the lawless one [Antichrist, man of sin] is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders…” 2 Thessalonians 2:9.
“Now brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come.” 2 Thessalonians 2:1-2.
