On the morning of Jesus’ resurrection Mary Magdalene and another Mary went to Jesus’ tomb. Upon arrival an angel informed them that the Lord had risen, he then told them to go and tell His disciples.
“Now as they heard these things, He [Jesus] spoke another parable, because He was near Jerusalem and because they thought the kingdom of God would appear immediately.” Luke 19:11.
“When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed is hands before the multitude, saying, ‘I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it.’ And all the people answered and said, ‘His blood be on us and on our children.’” Matthew 27:24-25.
“In the beginning was the Word [Christ Jesus], and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it [overcome it].” John 1:1-5.
“Now it happened, as He went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees to eat bread on the Sabbath, that they watched Him closely.” Luke 14:1.
