“A worthless person, a wicked man, walks with a perverse mouth [fraudulent deceitful speech]; he winks with his eyes, he shuffles his feet, he points with his fingers; perversity is in his heart, he devises evil continually, he sows discord. Therefore his calamity shall come suddenly; suddenly he shall be broken without remedy.” Proverbs 6:12-15.
“These six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him: a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.” Proverbs 6:16-19.
Proverbs 6:16-19 was covered in the post entitled “Seven Abominations, published on 12-21-19. They have been added for comparison because they further describe wicked men.
“A worthless person,” is someone who is of no use to God or man, “a wicked man” refers to one who is given over to complete wickedness.
The fulfillment of this sort of person is the Antichrist whose number of his name 666, is the number of the completeness of evil.
“Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day [Day of Christ, tribulation period] will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4.
This wicked man, “walks with a perverse mouth”, a lying, deceitful, and blasphemous mouth. This is how the future Antichrist starts out, not with invading armies, but through lies and intrigue. Everyone will love this charismatic deceitful person.
Lenin enslaved Russia when he introduced the communist lie to the people bringing death to millions of Russians through pogroms, state murders and starvation.
Lenin’s successor Joseph Stalin also became a communist leader through words and intrigue. Stalin was part of this from the beginning and was the first editor of the newspaper Pravda (means Truth) though in secret.
Joseph Stalin, who was a thug, must have been pretty smart because he wrote articles which made a difference in the cause for communism.
This thug murdered around 43 million Russians.
Chairman Mao of China started out much like Stalin with words and community organizing, though he did spend many years in actual combat before taking over China in 1949, renaming it the People’s Republic of China.
This thug murdered an estimated 60 million of his own people.
Adolf Hitler was a charismatic and fiery orator who promised Germany wonderful things, but led the entire nation into self-destruction.
This man early on became a leader in the NAZI party which, among other things, had a profound disdain for “human and moral values” this justified the murder of 6 million Jews.
Hitler consolidated his power through intrigue and hooliganism until he was strong and was able to obtain absolute power over the German people.
This thug caused the total deaths of an estimated 150 million people through the war itself and the diseases and starvation which inevitably follow war.
“Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men, even when they exercise influence and not authority: still more when you superadd the tendency or the certainty of corruption by authority.”

Over and over the model fails socialism, communism, dictators, and absolute rulers all, always result in the deaths of thousands to tens of millions of innocent people.
Yet, here we go again; over and over people today want a strong socialist leader to bring in a utopian ideal which, as in the past, will only bring in misery, starvation and death.
A good example of this is our South American neighbor, Venezuela where the annual inflation rate was 83,000% as of July 2018, and prices doubled every 26 days.
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Attributed to Albert Einstein, but author uncertain.
Lord Acton’s earlier quote that “Great men are almost always bad men…” is valid because of the sin nature.
It was the sin nature that drove these men to struggle for power. And it was the sin nature that caused these men who could have done a great deal of good in their lifetimes to mercilessly kill millions of people.
“Therefore, just as through one man [Adam] sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned…” Romans 5:12.
“Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s [Jesus] righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.” Romans 5:18-19.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God [free gift] is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23.
The wicked man also, “winks with his eyes, he shuffles his feet, he points with his fingers”, these are all signals to his cohorts as he brings about his evil plans.
When in school did you ever see a bully pointing at his unsuspecting victim and winking at a friend who then put out his foot and tripped their victim?
“He who winks with the eye causes trouble, but a prating fool will fall.” Proverbs 10:10.
Winking, giving signals by scraping his feet and pointing are secret signals vile men give to each other while carrying out evil plans. Not just high school stupidity, but real serious things involving robbery, or murder.
“He winks his eye to devise perverse things; he purses [compresses] his lips and brings about evil.” Proverbs 16:30.
“My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent. If they say, ‘Come with us, let us lie in wait to shed blood; let us lurk secretly for the innocent without cause; let us swallow them alive like Sheol, and whole, like those who go down to the Pit; we shall find all kinds of precious possessions, we shall fill our houses with spoil; cast in your lot among us, let us all have one purse’ – my son, do not walk in the way with them, keep your foot from their path; for their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed blood.’ Proverbs 1:10-16.
“The fear [reverence toward God] of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10.
“When wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you, to deliver you from the way of evil, from the man who speaks perverse things, from those who leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness; who rejoice in doing evil, and delight in the perversity of the wicked; whose ways are crooked, and who are devious in their paths…” Proverbs 2:10-15.
By reverently trusting the Lord we receive the wisdom that it takes to avoid wicked men or avoid falling into their snares and being victimized by them.
“The faithful man has perished from the earth, and there is no one upright among men. They all lie in wait for blood; every man hunts his brother with a net. That they may successfully do evil with both hands – the prince asks for gifts, the judge seeks a bribe, and the great man utters his evil desire; so they scheme together. The best of them is like a brier; the most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge; the day of your watchman [who calls out the alarm] and your punishment comes; now shall be their perplexity.” Micah 7:2-4.
Micah’s prophecy took effect shortly after his ministry when Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon conquered the southern kingdom of Judah enslaving and carrying off many of its people.
History, as it often does, is again repeating itself throughout the entire earth and faithful men are perishing from the earth and being replaced by worthless persons, wicked men who lie and deceive for riches and power.
Even now globalism is being thrust upon us by wicked power hungry people who want to bring the world together under socialism, not for the good of the people, but for the advantage of consolidating their power and bringing the riches of the world under the control of only a few elites.
Yet, even these will eventually give their power over to the Antichrist as absolute authority and he will rule with an iron fist unleashing a tide of torture and bloodshed inconceivable to the likes of Hitler, Stalin, or Mao.
“So they worshiped the dragon [Satan] who gave authority to the beast [Antichrist]; and they worshiped the beast, saying, ‘Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?’ And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months [3 ½ years]. Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. And it was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. And all who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If anyone has an ear, let him hear.” Revelation 13:4-9.
This period of seven years total will begin shortly after the rapture of the church when all true Christians will be taken from the earth, leaving only Christ rejecters and those who had not accepted Christ as Savior before the event.
The worthless person, the wicked man, has perversity in his heart, “he devises evil continually, he sows discord”, discord comes naturally to the perverse heart.
Whether to carry out his perverse plans or to satisfy his malicious nature he divides churches, friends, or as we see today, a nation with politically correct factions ripping citizens of one nation apart.
But wicked people like this have a shelf life and when it is over, it is indeed over!
“Therefore his calamity shall come suddenly; suddenly he shall be broken without remedy.” Proverbs 6:15.
Wicked men and women will be suddenly broken without remedy. But chairman Mao lived to be 83 years old and Joseph Stalin made it to 74, how is this like being suddenly broken?
The answer is that it is always sudden and irreversible for them, evil men can live to a hundred, then suddenly they enter eternal misery!
Speaking of these wicked people Scripture tells us this.
“Surely You set them in slippery places; You cast them down to destruction. Oh, how they are brought to desolation, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors. As a dream when one awakes, so, Lord, when You awake, You shall despise their image.” Psalm 73:18-20.
Consider these verses in Psalm 73 carefully, they should send a chill through your heart.
Wicked men are continually in slippery places though we cannot see them. Mobsters, have to be aware of other mobs, or men within their own organization who want to advance.
There are dictators and others of their ilk who continually worry about assassinations or family kidnappings. This fear translates into compiling lists of enemies real or imagined, and reigns of terror.
First, a life of constant unease, then sudden destruction!
“Oh, how they are brought to desolation, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors.” Psalm 73:19.
Many if not all folks have a tendency to ignore their own mortality. As a result men spend their time in the world occupied with the things of the world.
“…while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18.
Right thinking dictates that one should spend our time on earth earning a living, raising a family, and enjoying the world around us. Or one might choose a life of indolence, dreaming of what might be, and indulging in drunkenness or drugs.
“Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit’; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.’” James 4:13-15.
Yet most people like these or others always neglect to seek God, forgetting that they are mortal and will spend more time dead than they ever could alive.
“Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” Isaiah 55:6-7.
But the worthless person, the wicked man will not repent because of his own exaggerated self-worth and a sudden, terrifying destruction befalls him. Suddenly death strikes and they will victimize the living no more.
“Oh, how they are brought to desolation, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors. As a dream when one awakes, so, Lord, when You awake, You shall despise their image.” Psalm 73:19-20.
Suddenly, in a terrifying moment, the wicked die and drop into the reality of hell. Life on earth will be as a dream when they awake in this awful place of eternal misery and damnation!
“…so, Lord, when you awake”, for so many of us who seek justice and release from the clutches of these persons it will seem as though the Lord has suddenly awakened to mete out justice.
However, the Lord’s eye is on both the good and the bad at all times and He has assigned a time for us all, both good and evil, saved and unsaved.
“Lord, make me to know my end, and what is the measure of my days, that I may know how frail I am. Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, and my age is as nothing before You; certainly every man at his best state is but vapor. Selah” Psalm 39:4-5.
“Therefore his calamity shall come suddenly; suddenly he shall be broken without remedy.” Proverbs 6:15.
So, what about the Antichrist the epitome of evil, murderer of hundreds of millions?
“Then the beast [Antichrist] was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast [666] and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.” Revelation 19:20.
As for Antichrist’s followers and all who reject Christ as their Savior, they will reside in hell until Judgment Day when they will be cast into the lake of fire with them.
“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:14-18.
Behold, now is the day of salvation.
