Choices, Part 1

“There is a way that seems right to man, but its end is the way of death.” Proverbs 16:25.

Some of you may have read about the two girls who left their parents in Austria on April of 2014 to join ISIS in Syria.

It has been reported that Sabina Selimovic who was fifteen at the time was killed in a fire fight in December 2014, about eight months after she arrived.

Both girls were sexually abused and expressed regret for their decision shortly after arriving.

As of November 24, 2015, it has been reported that Samra Kesinovic who was sixteen when she left home was beaten to death when she attempted to escape from ISIS.

Samra had also sent her family a message asking to come home because she had become sickened by the extreme violence she witnessed daily.

I have heard a few reports that many of these young people who joined ISIS have returned because of the daily violence they witnessed. ISIS is demonically driven; do not expect anything but the grossest horrors to come out any region they occupy.

Here is a little background on the two children who were killed, the first one in a battle, and the second one murdered.

Both girls’ Muslim families escaped the genocide in Bosnia in the 1990’s and the girls were later born in Austria.

The parents emigrated to Austria and found a peaceful haven from the horrors of war in their own country, only to have their daughters devoured by an even more vicious beast.

It has been reported that they were turned by a Bosnian Islamic preacher in their mosque. The blood of both children will be required of him by God on Judgment Day.

As many as are turned to violence, there are also reports that many Muslims have turned to Christ. Even though almost all Christians have been martyred or driven out of the Middle East.

Muslims place a lot of faith in dreams and visions, and as a result they have been turned to Christ in this manner because the Holy Spirit has spoken to them in their dreams.

God will not leave men and women without a witness. Pray for Muslims even though it seems pointless.

“For God may speak in one way, or in another, yet man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while slumbering on their beds, then He opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction. In order to turn man from his deed, and conceal pride from man, He keeps back his soul from the Pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.” Job 33:14-18.

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9.

“Then Jesus said to them again, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.’” John 10:7-11.

“For the Scripture says, ‘Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.’ For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For ‘whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’” Romans 10:11-13.

Choices, choices, what will you choose? Some choices end in disaster as in the example of these young Muslim girls.

Some choices will destroy a marriage, some will destroy a career, some a friendship, and some will bring an eternity burning in the lake of fire.

“Let the nations be wakened, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; for there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations. Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, go down; for the winepress is full, the vats overflow – for their wickedness is great. Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision. The sun and moon will grow dark, and the stars will diminish their brightness. The Lord also will roar from Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; the heavens and earth will shake; but the Lord will be a shelter for His people [both Jew and Gentile who have accepted Christ as Savior], and the strength of the children of Israel.” Joel 3:12-16.

The day described is the day of Armageddon and despite prophets and preachers speaking God’s word, combined with horrific disasters, and the preaching of angels from the sky. The valley of decision will be filled with millions who reject Christ and follow the Antichrist.

Decisions, decisions, will you:

“Remember your Creator before the silver cord is loosed, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher shattered at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the well. Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.” Ecclesiastes 12:6-7.

“Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, ‘Vengeance is Mine I will repay,’ says the Lord. And again, ‘The Lord will judge His people.’ It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Hebrews 10:28-31.

What will you choose concerning these things?

“We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For He says: ‘In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you.’ Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Corinthians 6:1-2.

Choices, choices, choose wisely. Lucifer Son of the Morning was once a beautiful angel who was given great responsibility.

So great was he that he could no longer see himself as inferior to God and aspired to greater things.

“How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’ Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit.” Isaiah 14:12-15.

Lucifer which means day star is now Satan the adversary who also deluded as many as one third of the angels into rebelling with him.

Because of these choices Satan and his followers are destined to be cast into the lake of fire for eternity.

“Then He [Jesus Christ] will also say to those on the left hand [men and women who have rejected Christ as Savior], ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels…’” Matthew 25:41.

After untold millions of years of life, Satan and his fallen angels will be cast into the lake of fire. Time is running out.

“Oh, how they are brought to desolation, as in a moment [unbelievers at death]! They are utterly consumed with terrors. As a dream when one awakes, so, Lord, when You awake, You shall despise their image.” Psalm 73:19-20.

When Satan and all his followers, both men and angels, are cast into the lake of fire, the past will all seem as though it was a dream, and the reality will be eternal fire.
