Does God Judge the World Today? Part 2

In “Does God Judge the World Today? Part 1” posted on 3-14-24 we examined just a few of the warnings that God issued to the Israelites before the severe judgment of removing them from their homeland.

The Jews were not blind-sided by this punishment, but they ignored about eight hundred years of warnings and smaller punishments.

There are four significant thoughts to be gained from this.

“Yet they lean on the Lord, and say, ‘Is not the Lord among us? No harm can come upon us.’” Micah 3:11b.

The Israelites erred in thinking that since God had established them and inhabited Solomon’s temple that He would not allow evil to come upon them; thus, relying on God as if He were some kind of lucky rabbit’s foot while they ignored His words.

Yet the people were carried off to Babylon in shame and the temple leveled to the ground.

Americans too say, “We are a Christian country, and God will protect us”; all the while we sink into the same depravity as the Israelites.

“Has a nation changed its gods, which are not gods?” Jeremiah 2:11a.

Give this some serious thought. Can you think of a nation that deserted its heathen gods? India has been steeped in Hinduism since before 1500 B.C.

Islam began in the Arabian Peninsula in 622 A.D. and by warfare and death threats they spread as far as Europe, before being driven out.

Islam is still prevalent in India, Southeast Asia. And the Middle East is a very real threat to the rest of the world, as you are well aware of.

Voodoo, witchcraft and shamanism have held Haiti and the African continent in darkness for centuries.

None of these countries is going to change gods anytime soon. All mankind started millennia ago with a clear knowledge of the one true God, and all deserted Him.

And of all these, only Israel, the United States and England have been able to show real blessings from the God of the Bible, and all are deserting Him!

“…when a land sins against Me by persistent unfaithfulness, I will stretch out My hand against it…” Ezekiel 14:13a.

Persistent unfaithfulness: this is the key to this verse and the thing that starts the downward spiral to judgment. God knows that we are but men and prone to sin, so He cuts a person and a nation a lot of slack, but persistent unfaithfulness will be corrected.

“As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.” Psalm 103:13-14.

Unfortunately, men love their sin and having their own way too much to heed the warnings of God, and the pressures of judgment begin to increase.

Curiously enough, when God withholds judgment, men are encouraged to continue doing wrong. And when He brings swift destruction, He is accused of unrighteousness.

But God loves to bless, and men love to kill, steal, and destroy and cling to their sin.

In Ezekiel 14:12-21, God speaks of His four severe judgments, sword, famine, wild beasts and pestilence, notice that these are His severe judgments.

“…when I send My four severe judgments on Jerusalem – the sword and famine and wild beasts and pestilence – to cut off man and beast from it?” Ezekiel 14:21b.

This indicates that there are less horrific consequences for a sinful nation, such as a depression (like the worldwide one experienced in 1929 and today).

Inflation can be caused by an imbalance of supply and demand.

Scarcity will drive prices upward whether for luxury items or food for starving people as it is in socialist Venezuela, once the wealthiest nation in South America.

“For ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath [about 8 gallons as opposed to the average 500 gallons], and a homer [6.25 bu.] of seed shall yield one ephah [0.625 bu.].” Isaiah 5:10.

Notice, the seeds available for planting would be far less than the year before.

If you are old enough you will remember when your money went farther but government meddling with the money supply has caused a yearly inflation increase.

Droughts which can turn into famines; America has seen many of these from the dustbowl to the periodic ones we see today.

As of 8-27-15, California was in its fourth year of record drought, at the same time they allowed trillions of gallons of water to drain into the ocean. As of 10-8-20 California is still wasting valuable water by continuing to allow trillions of gallons of rainwater to run into the ocean.

Incompetent state management has caused California farmlands to shrink for lack of water and large areas of land have begun sinking at an increased rate due to the emptying of aquifers because of the drought conditions.

Fires, the state of California has had an almost unrelenting onslaught of fires for the last several years. Even the state of Florida burned one year (Florida!), and many other states have experienced the same.

As of 8-27-15, sixty-six wildfires were burning across the west, consuming 1.7 million acres, and keeping 28,000 firefighters at work.

These last few years have had many more due to state mismanagement.

Rather than taking responsibility for this, politicians are blaming climate change which does not exist.

This is a cause and effect, if a nation rejects God, they reject His protecting hand, one cannot have their cake and eat it too.

The sword, Jesus prophesied this of the end times.

“And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows.” Mark 13:7-8.

There were more wars in the twentieth century than in all history before it. World War II is considered by most historians as a continuation of WW I and is what Jesus referred to as nation rising against nation and kingdom against kingdom (this prophecy has been fulfilled).

So far because of the Islamic jihad through terrorism and ISIS, North Korea’s constant posturing, Russia’s muscle flexing, and communism in Africa, the twenty-first century has been nothing but warfare, horrifying deaths, slavery and unrest.

The treachery of 911 is already forgotten by politicians and many liberal citizens.

The September 11, 2001, attack on the World Trade Center and three other locations killed 2,977 people with 25,000 injured, along with long term health issues for these and many more victims.

This attack was deadlier than the December 7, 1941, attack on Pearl Harbor that killed 2,403. Yet we are at peace with the Japanese since they signed terms of surrender with us on 9-2-45, they are now allies.

Yet there is no surrender, no recompense, no apologies, and no treaties with the 911 perpetrators, just endless warfare and shouts of “Death to America!”

Most politicians have ignored this atrocity and are embracing and entangling us with the religion of peace.

Famine, in a world that could feed well over 10 billion people if all the arable land was used, starvation is pandemic among its 8.1 billion people; we have had severe droughts in this country but never famines.

That will come when we say no to Jesus for the last time. On 7-9-10 a North Carolina pastor was removed from his job of leading prayer in the state’s legislature because he invoked the name of Jesus in his prayer for the state lawmakers, the military, and for a blessing upon the state of North Carolina.

The reason, “Some people may be offended”.

On January 5, 2021, the first daily Congressional prayer of the new session was ended with the words “Amen and A-woman”, the excuse was to end references to gender.

Amen means, so be it, it has no reference to male gender at all. The perpetrator, a pastor who should have known better was Democrat, Emanuel Cleaver he was supported by congressional Democrats.

The reason for the substitution: to offend Christians and Jews.

Wild beasts are not yet a big problem here in America, though bears, coyotes and pumas are starting to encroach on civilization.

There are also incompetents who free their pet pythons in the everglades and others harbor illegal exotic animals risking the upset of the balance of nature in this country. Killer bees and fire ants are already a problem and spreading.

India has a problem with tigers killing women working in the fields, and packs of wild dogs roam about in many countries.

Another incident happened awhile back when animals from a zoo escaped during a flood. At least one person was killed before they were rounded up. It is not too hard to see man moved to the bottom of the food chain.

Pestilence, originally this Hebrew word seems to have meant destruction though it often refers to disease. Some of these diseases are Ebola virus, y. pestis, anthrax, cholera, E. coli, all of which perverted men are anxious to use as weapons.

Covid-19 seems like it should be added here but with a 99.98% survival rate it is hardly a pandemic. Dangerous, yes, just like every other flu that kills thousands of the aged and the infirm every year so does covid-19, so please be careful, but this is a globalist hoax period.

If pestilence means destruction, earthquakes like the Haitian quake, or a tsunami like the one in Japan. Or the Indonesian tsunami which killed 230,000 people on 12-26-04 with waves as high as 100 feet along the Indian Ocean coastland affecting 14 countries.

Tornados in America are said to be coming in swarms which have increased more and more since the mid 1990’s; prior to that they were extremely rare.

While some say the yearly numbers of tornados have not changed much, averaging about 495 per year, they can now come in swarms over a day or two at a time.

For instance, an extreme example came in April of 2011 when 175 tornados swept across the south in just two days killing hundreds of people and causing billions of dollars in damage. In fact, during that same month the total number of tornados to hit the entire U.S. was given as 750.

On April 12-13, 2020, a swarm of 105 tornadoes hit the country and is given as the largest since the April of 2011 devastation. There were lesser swarms, but these events are not yet very common.

Countries like Iran and North Korea are working to build atomic weapons to use on Israel or the United States.

God does not even have to do anything supernatural. There are enough petty little dictators and Islamic Jihadists just frothing at the mouth waiting to bring a fiery death, suffering and anguish upon innocent men, women and children.

On 6-21-10, Billings Montana was hit by a tornado and while the damage was in the millions, only one person was injured by a large hailstone. The greatest damage was to their sports arena which the day before was occupied by 7,000 spectators.

According to the news, upon noting that it destroyed an empty stadium, the city commissioner said, “The big guy was looking out after us.”

The big guy, the Man upstairs, big J, JC; how many would refer to their boss that way to his face?

How easy would it have been to say, “Thank God, no one was hurt”? Or “Thank you Jesus! My wife, family and friends are safe”.

“Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River [the Euphrates] and in Egypt. Serve the Lord! And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River [the Euphrates], or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:14-15.

You must choose, choose wisely, and soon.
