“Keep me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from violent men, who have purposed to make my steps stumble.  The proud have hidden a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set traps for me. Selah” Psalm 140:4-5.

The above has been included to maintain context. If you go back and read Psalm 140:1-5 you will see that they are one basic theme while the following verses 6-8 reveal King David’s relationship with our Lord.

King David’s prayer in verses 1 through 5 go from a plea for deliverance, to protection from evil men; then in verse 6 he confesses his unchanging faith in the true and living God. It is a beautiful reminder of David’s love and complete reliance on God’s deliverance in times of peril.

“I said to the Lord: ‘You are my God; Hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord.  O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle.  Do not grant, O Lord, the desires of the wicked; do not further his wicked scheme, lest they be exalted.’ Selah” Psalm 140:6-8.

“I said to the Lord: ‘You are my God; Hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord.” When David calls out to God, “You are my God” it is as one completely devoted calling out to his Father and saying, “Hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord.” Hear my prayer O Father, “O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle.”

“O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation…” David’s salvation is guaranteed by the word of God who cannot lie, as stated in Titus 1:2, “…in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began…”.

King David grasps hold of the immutable promise that God who made that promise will not change His mind, nor will anyone snatch David out of the hand of the living God who cradles him therein.

“…that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” Hebrews 6:18-20.

While the verses quoted from Titus and Hebrews are New Testament written many years after King David’s reign, they are no less true when seen next to verses like:

“Then He [God] brought him [Abraham] outside and said, ‘Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.’ And He said to him, ‘So shall your descendants be.’ And he believed in the Lord, and He [the Lord] accounted it to him for righteousness.” Genesis 15:5-6.

“He [Abraham] did not waiver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. And therefore ‘it was accounted to him for righteousness.’ Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him, but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.” Romans 4:20-25.

“Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him, but also for us.” Consider this carefully my friends, the promise of salvation which was given to Abraham was also accepted by King David and is also freely available to all who will call on the name of the Lord and lay their sins at the feet of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Having considered the power of our God to save eternally, let us now consider God’s ability to care for our lives.

“O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle.” Men wear helmets in battle, and this is what David is speaking of here. Helmets have saved many lives over time, but David gives glory to God in that it was not his helmet that spared him, but the powerful hand of God. Call on the name of the Lord in times of trouble that His powerful hand may spare you.

“Do not grant, O Lord, the desires of the wicked…” The wicked are empowered by the demonic world lead by Satan, doubtless many of you are seeing this in the world around us now; left unchecked it will soon envelope the entire world.

Even now America has been taken over by evil men and women who have ignored federal laws, raised taxes to squander on aiding and abetting an army of illegal aliens, and formulating many schemes to bilk the American taxpayer of hundreds of billions of dollars over many years.

They call themselves communists, socialists or Muslims, all of which are unconstitutional forms of government as per article 4 section 4 of the United States Constitution which guarantees the entire country the right to a Republican form of government.

This does not mean a government run by Republicans. A republican form of government is defined by the Supreme Court as:

“By the Constitution, a Republican form of Government is guaranteed to every State in the Union, and the distinguishing feature of that form is the right of the people to choose their own officers for governmental administration, and pass their own laws in virtue of the legislative power reposed in representative bodies, whose legitimate acts may be said to be those of the people themselves…”

There will be no peace in this country until the Federal Government asserts our Constitutional right to a nationwide Republican form of Government by declaring the Democratic Party null and void. The clock is ticking and time is running out.

“Do not grant, O Lord, the desires of the wicked; do not further his wicked scheme, lest they be exalted. Selah” Psalm 140:8.

“… do not further his wicked scheme, lest they be exalted. Selah” Just as King David found the necessity to cry out against these vile people in his day, so we must cry out to God against their malevolent schemes today.

No nation can survive against evil men without fervent prayer to God to end their wicked schemes. If they succeed, they gain power and fame.

Fame brings exaltation no matter how great a buffoon they are. And these evil buffoons have infested this country like termites, destroying everything as they seek wealth and power through subversive means.

“Do not grant, O Lord, the desires of the wicked; do not further his wicked scheme, lest they be exalted. Selah” Psalm 140:8.

“…Pray without ceasing…” 1 Thessalonians 5:17.

“Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.” Mark 14:38.
