“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” Isaiah 9:6-7.
The above is an ancient prophecy of the coming King of kings and Lord of lords, “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given…” His name is Jesus. He came to earth the first time to die for our sins, as seen below.
“For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures…” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4.
After the Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead and was seen by many, He returned to heaven and is seated next to God the Father awaiting the Day when He shall return to the earth to rule.
“…and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end…” after the horrors of the seven years of the tribulation the Lord Jesus Christ will return to reign and for a thousand years, He will bring peace upon this world; but before that:
“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True [Jesus Christ]. With justice he judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword [the word of God] with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: King of Kings and Lord of Lords.” Revelation 19:11-16.
This is a brief description of Jesus Christ’s return to rule the entire world it is the battle commonly called the battle of Armageddon. There are many other prophecies concerning the battle of Armageddon and Christ’s return in both the Old Testament and in the New Testament, including much more in Revelation chapter 19, part of which is quoted above.
Below we see the beginnings of the Lord Jesus Christ’s setting up His kingdom of peace which will endure for a thousand years.
“Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while. And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.” Revelation 20:1-6.
The first significant and important thing is Satan is bound and thrown into a bottomless pit giving the righteous a relief from his constant harassment.
But after these things he must be released for a little while.” Revelation 20:1-3.
This action will bring peace for the citizens of the millennium. Without Satan’s constant agitation and divisive tactics mankind will indeed have peace from war, crime, violence, prejudice, destruction of families, and famine; and whatever else you would call peace.
Along with the devil and his angels Christ will eliminate evil, godless men who have corrupted His world.
“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’” Matthew 25:31-36.
Speaking to those on the right Jesus made the above series of statements and when they ask when did they feed Jesus and give Him water, befriend Jesus as a stranger and clothe Him, looked after Him when He was sick, visited Him in prison? He answered them and said:
“And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels…’” Matthew 25:40-41.
The things Jesus commended those on His right are the things that a Christian would do in love for another person. Jesus rejected those on His left because they had no pity for those around them, showing that they were unsaved and cursed, read all of Matthew 25:31-46 for context.
With these hinderances eliminated and Jesus’ government established the world is changed.
“Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it. Many people shall come and say, ‘Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths.’ For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. He shall judge between the nations, and rebuke many people; they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.” Isaiah 2:2-4.
The temple, a huge, magnificent temple will be rebuilt, as indicated below. This millennial temple is described, along with its ordinances and services are written in Ezekiel chapters 40-48.
“Son of man, describe the temple to the people of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their sins. Let them consider its perfection, and if they are ashamed of all they have done, make known to them the design of the temple—its arrangement, its exits and entrances—its whole design and all its regulations and laws. Write these down before them so that they may be faithful to its design and follow all its regulations. “This is the law of the temple: all the surrounding area on top of the mountain will be most holy. Such is the law of the temple.” Ezekiel 43:10-12.
And “they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.”
Think of that, over time people will forget what a ballistic missile is, a battleship, canons, chemical or biological weapons, atomic weapons, or blinded and maimed men, women and children – peace throughout time!
The end of famine, misery, poverty, and dangers from animals and other creatures.
“The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. The cow and the bear shall graze; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. The nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole, and the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper’s den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” Isaiah 11:6-9.
Think of that, a mother can sit their child down in the yard and leave them to play without worry of their being attacked by wolves, lions, snakes or bears – anything!
Even food will grow in great abundance.
“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who sows seed; the mountains shall drip with sweet wine, and all the hills shall flow with it.” Amos 9:13.
It is my opinion, my opinion, not found in Scripture, nor in a science book that one reason the Lord created dinosaurs when He created everything in Genesis chapters 1 and 2 was because the earth was so verdant that they were necessary to help keep the vegetation down, and yes, the T-Rex ate foliage as the lion will in the future.
If this is true, then, when “the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who sows seed”, will not only be a blessing from God but a method of replenishing the food supply as the earth’s population grows during the millennium.
Scientists who are Christians have said that even now if all the arable land were used properly it would feed about 83 billion people. God has already given us more than enough on this earth to survive any population. However, evil men are always rabid to lie, kill and ruin indiscriminately.
The things described in these passages indicate that the earth will be returned to the original created condition as described in the first two chapters of the book of Genesis. However, I doubt that there will be a Garden of Eden in this renewed earth, since it served its purpose back then.
There are other verses that add to our knowledge of the millennium in the Bible. And at the end of this thousand-year period there is much more to be revealed in Revelation 20:7-15 and chapter 21 through the end of chapter 22.
Beware though, as I warned you in the first post, no one will see these things unless they accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. Jesus died on the cross to pay for all of our sins against God. All anyone needs to do is to accept that payment for themselves. Please do so soon because the rapture of all Christians is imminent. Time is running out!
