“But let justice run down like water, And righteousness like a mighty stream.” Amos 5:24.
The dictionary defines justice as, among other things, “The maintenance or administration of that which is just; also, merited reward or punishment; the principal of rectitude and just dealing of men with each other”.
Ezekiel 18:1-4 was quoted in Part 1 of this series and is shown below to maintain context.
“The word of the Lord came to me again, saying, ‘What do you mean when you use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying: “The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge”? ‘As I live,’ says the Lord God ‘you shall no longer use this proverb in Israel. Behold, all souls are Mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine; the soul who sins shall die.’” Ezekiel 18:1-4.
“For He [God] made Him [Jesus] who knew no sin to be sin for us [on the cross], that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21.
“And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, ‘Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?’ And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it.” Revelation 5:1-4.
“Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads.” Revelation 4:4.
