“But of that day and hour [the rapture] no one knows, no, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” Matthew 24:36-39.
When I posted my last study entitled “Bad Weather” on 9-21-25, I made a grave error, I did not emphasize the fact that Jesus made it very plain that no one can predict the time of His return, “But of that day and hour [the rapture] no one knows, no, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.”
While many Christians who have studied prophecy over the centuries may have had thoughts concerning the timing of the Lord’s return, God’s wisdom counsels us to keep it to ourselves.
People who pick a date like September 23rd the beginning of The Feast of Trumpets and broadcast it publicly only show their ignorance and ruin the faith of those who believe them.
How did they know that it was this year’s Feast of Trumpets 2025, and not next year’s Feast of Trumpets, or in 2030, or 2050. Jesus said, “But of that day and hour [the rapture] no one knows, no, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.” Yet these arrogant scholars call Jesus a liar and tell us the day and break the hearts of the new Christians whose hopes were lifted.
Charles Taze Russell, one of the founders of the Jehovah’s Witnesses decided in the spring of 1878 that Jesus was coming to rapture Christians away.
His little group sold all that they had and stood together on a hilltop in anticipation of Christs return to take them to heaven. Nothing happened, Russell, being quick witted made up a new story to explain the disappointing event and continued to mislead them with his false gospel.
On September 24th I saw a video of hopeful people who had sold everything they had standing out on a hill waiting for the Lord’s return to take them away.
Another video recorded an apparently poor family who had nothing to sell, so they stayed inside the place where they lived and waited for Jesus to come and take them away.
The woman who was being interviewed said that they just waited quietly in the house all day. She also said that they did not even go number 2 (in the bathroom) for fear of Jesus finding them doing that during His return.
This broke my heart.
While the rapture can happen at any time, Christians must live a righteous and godly life in anticipation of our Lord Jesus’ return.
There are so many new Christians that came out of the Charlie Kirk revival who need to learn the deep things of Jesus from mature Christians before Satan confuses them with his lies which come from false teachers.
The call is for mature Christian teachers and for prayer that the Lord of the harvest sends out workers in the fields for they ready for the harvest, see Luke 10:2 below.
“Then He [Jesus] said to them, ‘The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.’” Luke 10:2.
While the rapture of the church is anticipated by Christians all over the world there is a great deal of confusion about it, both by believers and those who reject Christ. Yet, it is vital that you understand it right now.
As it stands now the sequence of events will progress in this manner. For nearly two thousand years we have been in what is called the church age, also known as the age of grace.
At the end of the age of grace the rapture (removal) of all Christians from the earth will end the church age.
Afterward when Israel signs a seven-year treaty with a coming world leader, referred to as the beast in Scripture, it will usher in a time that was prophesied long ago known as the tribulation, a period of seven years duration.
After seven years of catastrophic horror Christ will return to the earth to reign for a thousand years of peace and righteousness.
At the end of that period there will be a short rebellion led by Satan which quickly ends in the death of the rebels and is followed by Judgment Day.
And then God will create new heavens and a new earth bringing us to the end of time, the eternal state.
This is the condensed conservative view, but be prepared to have some people, even conservative Christians, disagree with you over different parts of this teaching.
It is unlikely that you will find any two Christians who agree on every point of prophecy, so do not be dogmatic to the point of division among brothers and sisters in Christ, unless the disagreement is over a basic doctrine of the faith, such as the deity of Christ (this is not negotiable).
There are those who will tell you that the word rapture does not occur in Scripture. This is just an effort to muddy the water since liberal theologians and other unbelievers will tend to try to confuse an issue rather than deal with it from a literal practical standpoint.
They are right, it is not mentioned in the Bible; the word rapture comes from a Latin word which could be translated as, “to catch up, or to catch away”, see the Scripture below.
“Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them [those who have died] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.” 1 Thessalonians 4:17a.
The Greek word harpazo means, to snatch or catch away (“caught up together”). Do not let these little rabbit trails distract you from going after the prize.
The fact that there is going to be a rapture is documented in Scripture.
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me [Jesus]. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” John 14:1-3.
Now it is true that this is not very clear, but we are not done yet. Most folks focus on the many mansions part of this verse, and miss the last sentence, “I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also”.
Notice that we have a promise from the Lord Himself. The question arises, how and when is He going to come and get us?
